Kick-butt actions:

I recently did a program about being a STAR in your life. This holiday season it is important for all to remember to be a STAR.

S = serve others – one person at a time.
Smile at the cashier, it may be the only one they receive.
Give a box of chocolates to an older couple in your building or neighborhood. It may be the only gift they get.
Act silly and make a child laugh as their parent tries to keep them patient in a store.

T = Take time for yourself – Just say no!
Stay home one night if you find yourself going to every holiday party. It won’t mangle your career if you don’t go.
If you had a hard day at the office and are rushing home to be with the family pull over and get your self a cup of cocoa. Take time to let go of work and get ready for the house. (HINT: The traffic was terrible today, wasn’t it???)

A= Ask for what you want and act as if you have it.
No they can’t read your mind. You actually have to ask for what you want. Time off? That special something? A meeting to discuss a gripe? (Come prepared with solutions) Their business??
Act as if you have it. Show that you know what it feels like to have what you’re asking for. Be confident that you will receive what you are asking for. If you’re not…why would they want to give it to you?

R= Take Risks with positive behaviors, thoughts, and emotions.
Take the risk of telling someone ‘I love You’ They may turn their back, they may remain stiff, they may be nervous. Tell them anyway – it’s not for them but for you. Never lose an opportunity to tell someone you care. Take the Risk.
Take the risk of taking care of your self when others are inappropriate. If you don’t who will? Speak up and take responsibility for your self care.

Be a STAR this holiday season.
Shine a light by being you.
Sprinkle glitter in your environment
Sparkle your relationships.
